I am so grateful for the wonderful training and riding opportunities at Wind Walker Farms. On my "dream horse" that was born and raised at this farm, I have done things on the trail that I never would have imagined! Steep hills, mud, going over obstacles and even riding in the winter in snow and ice. For someone starting this activity in their 50's, it has been delight to find such a place to learn these skills. I appreciate that the farm offers a variety of levels of horse involvement. To name just a few: You can buy a reasonably priced punchcard if you just want to purchase some trail rides or lessons. You can buy a dream horse and develop skills to be a good partner with your horse. You could bring a horse for training. You might even board a horse to enjoy the wonderful trails. You could go just to spend time with a lot of great people. It is also a great place to learn more about a variety of new tack. Never used a tail crupper before.... I had my first ride on an "Australian" saddle there at the farm! Now I own more than one Australian saddle to keep me in the seat on the more adventurous terrain! So if you are looking for a great place to develop horsemanship skills and spend time on or with a horse, I would definitely recommend Wind Walker Farms. It is also a great place to test out and then buy that potentially safer saddle! Happy trails....Michelle
I've been riding again, (rode as a kid), for four years. Getting back on a horse was such a humbling experience and after I came off of my "bombproof" horse, I quickly figured out that I was "borrowing rides" (as Chris Cox says)from him all along. Thank God he's a good partner in general! But, that fall & 3 dislocated ribs made me start the search for trainers who could help me with strategy & technique so that I am better equipped to help my horse when a situation occurs. Plus, I needed to regain my confidence. The other daunting task for me is finding another trusted trail partner because my Dreamer is only able do light riding now.
I've been working with Tim for only a month and already I feel more confident! I'm learning an invaluable skill set, and I think I've found one that's gone through Tim's training. We are becoming fast partners and I'm looking forward to learning more!!
I needed a horsemanship mentor someone with skill, patience and compassion. My prayers were answered with Tim Scarberry and Wind Walker Farms & Training. Everyone tried to tell me I'm too old to follow my dreams, and I've had an instinctive fear of horses my whole life but love them just as fiercely! Tim takes time and compromise and provides step by step programs and methods that are moldings dreams into reality. My prayers are answered, Thank You Wind Walker Farms & Our Heavenly Father!
I started casually riding at Wind Walker Farms (WWF) in the Spring of 2016. I quickly fell in love with trail riding and a 3 year colt named Waylon. Being new to horses and riding a young horse I had no idea what to expect or how to act. Going through the WWF horsemanship program has provided me with the tools to ensure a safe and fun ride as well as confidence. WWF is a friendly and relaxing environment. I have formed a lot of great friendships at the farm. Everyone is open arms and willing to help out when needed. If someone would have asked me a year ago if I would be riding a 3 year horse, the answer would have been "no way". Waylon and I are creating great memories trail riding all over this beautiful land God has created for us. I look forward to continuing to learn about horses and trail riding with Wind Walker Farms. Thank you for giving me an experience of a life time.
Tim sold me my best friend (horse) Ryker a few years ago. I feel that if there is anything I need help on I can ask Tim. The horses he trains are gentle and trustworthy. I would truly recommend that if your looking for a pleasure horse. Call Tim. He will do his best to match you to the horse meant for you. Not only that, he will work with you and your horse so you can build a wonderful partnership.
